Well I have finally handed in all my work for my minor project, I am pleased with what I have done and hope that you all like it as well (but mainly the lecturers). But there is no rest for the wicked as we now have to start our major project as well as dissertation and organising our degree show. Its going to be a busy Christmas!

Finally finals
Below you can see some of final designs, so far I am working on five but need eight so am going to have to do some thinking. My ideas are based upon victoriana/coursages/vintage, hope this is reflected in my work. I enjoy working with paper to create new unusual shapes and add a different texture to my work.

Developing
I have now moved onto the development stage of my minor project, I am experimenting with fabrics and different techniques using leather, lace, plaster, embroidery and print. Its exciting to see my drawings become more interesting through print. I'm aiming to produce a collection of shirts, ties (experimenting with multi directional print) and maybe some samples, but this may change as my plans usually do.

Change Again
I finally got my brief finished to a degree, and then my project takes another twisted turn in a roundabout way, but now I am excited about it which is a good thing. I am now working on a mood board to sort out all the ideas that I have floating about in my head.
ideas/inspiration-
the dandy or fop/ Victorian gentlemen
bits of cars and engines
old trinkets
pocket watches
steampunk
flying machines/ trains and trams
watch out for a mood board hopefully this weekend

Have been trying to write my project brief for uni, and got distracted looking at the gorgeous interior items on www.coxandcox.co.uk definatly worth a look. The Creative Diva section has the most adorable and unique items for anybody wanting to try their hand at the slighest bit of creativness. The bird stamps are definatly something I'll be putting on my wish list.

Welcome!
Welcome to my first blog, I have just started my third and final year at CCAD. Working on a concept journal over the holidays allowed me to put my ideas and thoughts down. I am currently working on my minor project, which I have chosen to do about the scrapyard. Looking at the piled up cars, depcrepid and falling apart, its sad to think of the memories linked with these items. Like memories being destroyed, the rust taking over that is both beautiful and destructive.
